"BE OF GOOD CHEER, FEAR NOT, BELIEVE GOD"

These were the three words that Paul uses to persuade and change the thoughts of the people who were with him in the boat at the time of the storm. He told them, be of good cheers, fear not, and believe God. Jesus Christ our Lord is asking you today to be of good cheers, not because you are strong, well informed, prepared and had required knowledge, but because on your behalf and for your victory, for you to renew your strength, for your breakthrough now and in the future and in all other things, He had overcome the world, He had defeated Satan, He had broken the bars of iron and had cut the gates of brass that seeks to hold you captive and keep you backward. His victory was for you and all of His actions were for your celebration. Knowing what Jesus Christ had done, you owe yourself some cheerfulness because you were included in His plans for freedom and liberation. Your liberation, your accomplishment, and your conquest will come as you keep your heart in Him. This is what people did to Christ Jesus, this is what His disciples said and this is the reply that Jesus Christ gave to them: “His disciples said, ah, now You are speaking plainly to us and not in figures of speech. Now we know that You know all things, and have no need for anyone to question You; because of this, we believe without any doubt that you came from God. Jesus answered them, do you now at last believe? Take careful notice: an hour is coming, and has arrived, when you will all be scattered, each to his own home, leaving Me alone; and yet I am not alone because the Father is with Me. I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace. In the world, you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous, be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy; I have overcome the world. My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.” John 16:29-33. The devil will try you, but be of good cheers; you may encounter difficulties in life, but be of good cheers, you may be in a storm and confused, but be of good cheers, our God knows what you are going through, He will keep you, He will guide you and He will give you victory.

Fear not was the second word spoken in faith despite what was obvious on the scene of the storm; God is saying storm will come, but He will calm the storm, issues will arise to make you fearful and confused, but fear not because He is with you, He is in you and he is for you. But before the fearful scene comes, before the confusion arises, before you are messed up, God knows the result because He has a plan for you what nothing will ever change. “You whom I the Lord have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its remotest parts and said to you, you are My servant,

I have chosen you and have not rejected you even though you are exiled. Do not fear anything, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation. Indeed, all those who are angry with you will be put to shame and humiliated; those who strive against you will be as nothing and will perish. You shall search for those who quarrel with you, but will not find them; they who war against you will be as nothing, as nothing at all. For I the Lord your God keep hold of your right hand; I am the Lord, who says to you, do not fear, I will help you. Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel; I will help you, declares the Lord, and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.” Isaiah 41:9-14

The final word of Paul to all of them, you and I today is to believe God. That is where the change will begin, that is where the assurance is confirmed and that is where victory is perfected. It is in our absolute that we will begin to experience the fullness of His blessings, the confirmation of His promises and the power of His presence. “And the Lord brought Abram outside and said, look now toward the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them. Then He said to him, so shall your descendants be. Then Abram believed in the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness. ” Genesis 15:5-6. For prayers, Click here
