Post date: Feb 18, 2016 1:16:30 AM

“Now, therefore, this is what you shall say to My servant David: thus says the Lord of hosts, I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make your name like the name of the great ones of the earth. I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, so that they may live in their own place and not be moved again nor tremble with fear; and the wicked will not waste, persecute them anymore, as formerly, since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. And I will humble and subdue all your enemies. Furthermore, I tell you that the Lord will build you a house, a blessed posterity. And it shall come to pass that when your days are completed and you must go to be with your fathers in death, I will raise up one of your descendants after you, one of your own sons; and I will establish his kingdom.” 1 Chronicles 17:7-11

It was the anointing through divine obedience of God’s instructions by Samuel; diligent listening   to God’s words and corresponding actions by him that did change David and thereafter turn his life and everything about him around for the very best the rest of lifetime. It was not his human ability (though that is needful); it was not his personal bravery (though that is necessary); it was not his spiritual and physical gifts (though that is helpful), it was not parental help, inheritance or wages (though that is commendable); it was not any of his family influence, any of good deeds or any of connections (though that also is good) that made David and gave him an enviable name and position. It was God doing what He wanted to do to a person who was after His own heart in thoughts and deeds and obedience and faithfulness.

David was not a star when the Lord took him; He was insignificant in strength, in wisdom, in ability, in knowledge, in relationship, and in all matters; but after the loving Lord took him up and anointed him, David become a king and the envy of the families in Israel; he propelled his country to be one of the greatest on earth; he achieved success and ended well beyond all human expectations; exceeded all imaginable measures; survived all scandals and accusations; scaled all family, tribal, spiritual and physical barriers to become one of the very best instruments through which God will gave the world a savior despite his weaknesses. God wants you just as you are and He will make you what He wants for Himself by Himself, all He requires is your obedience and faithfulness. The Lord who took David up and turn him around will do the same for you; you do not need to be a star before God will take you up. You are the right one He is looking for and as you have accepted His words, He will grant you His promises.

Though your name is not David and you are not a King in Israel, but you are serving the same God that David served when he was the king; though you are not from Bethlehem in Israel as David was, you are a Christian redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ and accepted by God the Father Almighty as His peculiar sons and daughters and your sins had been forgiven and you are made clean by the renewal of your heart to accept Him as your Lord; though you are not living in the times of David, you are living in the right time that God had scheduled for you to live and will do what He had scheduled you to do now and be as successful as David was.

David exceeded expectation as a result of the anointing; he was not expected to kill or defeat Goliath but he exceeded their expectations; He was not expected to be the king based on family history, tribe and popularity but he exceeded expectations; he exceeded all family expectations; among seven senior brothers he exceeded expectation; among the rulers and kings of Israel, he exceeded expectations; in leadership, he exceeded expectations; in his love for God, he exceeded expectations; in praise and worship, he exceeded expectation, all these happened because God anointed him and was with him, Oh Lord let my own come next.
