MY RESUME, MY JOY

There are several things the devil is doing today to keep believers confused and condemned, troubled and unhappy, crying and weeping despite their efforts in life. His plans of misfortune are spreading wider and wider every day in every place, but the good news is that his power to overwhelm and overcome you will not succeed because of Christ Jesus. The devil is playing his last card to keep you out of the will of God and you have to stand up against him not self, stand, not with your strength and knowledge, but on the strength and ability of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We all know the very impressive resume of David, how it started immediately after his anointing by Samuel. While unknown, without hope and any future in the bush tendering his father’s sheep, Samuel paid a divinely ordained and unannounced visit to his father’s house and David was sent for, and anointed to be the next King in Israel after Saul. We have read his exploits, how he killed a lion and a bear with his hands without having any instrument, how he killed Goliath with a sling and a stone, how he brought victory to Israel in several battle fields, how he was able to keep himself from being killed by King Saul and his invading army, how he earned great respect amongst the people of Israel, how Jonathan, Saul’s son loved him because of his strength. But this same strong man, with such a great resume, found out that not all battles are fought and won with human strength and knowledge. Nothing is too hard for Him to do for you.

Did you know that just like David, the day you accepted the call to repentance, and accepted Christ into your life, the day you accepted the anointing, the day you accepted the call to righteousness and faithfulness, the day you say “God I surrender all”, all things changes for your good? Did you know that is the day your record in heaven begins, and your old records no more exist? David’s resume started after the anointing, so is yours after your acceptance of Christ.

In another scene, this same strong David realized that there is a limit to which his strength can take him and had to deploy another method of addressing his concerns, by taking all to the Lord Jesus rather than depend on his previous strength. He said; “Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts. Psalms 28:1-4

Did you know that God will not take what you surrendered to Him lightly? He knows your strength and the devil knows that also. The devil also knows your testimony but he can never know what God will do with you when you submit all your concerns to Him.

This is David’s testimony after his submission to God “Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up forever” Psalms 28:1-4-9

The sooner you know that your strength and knowledge is always limited, and that you have to surrender everything in your life to your God, the sooner you will begin to have victory and preserve yourself from worries and pains. There are several things we will not be able to overcome with the strength of our resume and in such, we have to submit to our Lord and stop worrying. Our future, our joy our strength, our peace, our success and our knowledge in life, is in Christ Jesus, and He will not fold His arms and see us destroyed. Our joyful and victorious resume begins the day we accepts Christ Jesus as our Lord and savior not before.
