“O Lord, the God of vengeance, O God of vengeance, let your glorious justice shine forth. Arise, O Judge of the earth. Give the proud what they deserve. How long, O Lord? How long will the wicked be allowed to gloat? How long will they speak with arrogance? How long will these evil people boast? They crush your people, Lord, hurting those you claim as your own. They kill widows and foreigners and murder orphans. The Lord isn’t looking they say, and besides, the God of Israel doesn’t care. Think again, you fools, when will you finally catch on? Is he deaf, the one who made your ears? Is he blind, the one who formed your eyes? He punishes the nations, won’t he also punish you? He knows everything; doesn’t he also know what you are doing? The Lord knows people’s thoughts; he knows they are worthless.” Psalm 94:1-11

God will never forget His promises and He will never forget any of His children irrespective of their location, the injustice they face, their level of shame, loneliness, neglect, oppression or humiliation. Concerning the freedom of the children of Israel from Egypt, when God heard their cry, He said to Moses, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering.Look, the cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.” Exodus 3:7, 9-10. It was a direct word to Moses with specific instructions. ‘I am sending to Pharaoh for the purpose of leading Israel out of Egypt’ God’s desire was for Israel to go out of Egypt, not for their task to be reduced or stop, not for Moses to negotiate with Pharaoh on how to help them, not for Moses to take up arms, not for Moses to seek the counsel of elders or youths or the assistance of other nations to fight. God has given definite instructions concerning you irrespective of your situation and location and the sufferings you face and no resistance from the Pharaoh standing against you will change the terms of the instruction or hinder them from being fulfilled. In obedience, Moses went to Pharaoh and delivered the words of God to him but Pharaoh refused and rejected the release of the children of Israel from their task and from Egypt. It is good to note that Moses went to Pharaoh ten times with the same message from God and ten times Pharaoh refused yet God did not change His mind, did not change His word, and did not change intention. The refusal of Pharaoh to heed the request only delayed the release of the children of Israel from Egypt, it did not stop them. Delays will not and does not stop God’s intent, does not stop His words and will not change His purpose. At the fullness of God’s time, God stepped in to enforce His word by dealing with Pharaoh, his lords and the entire people and land of Egypt. You are serving the same God though full of mercy, will definitely act in ways that will fulfill His plans and desires and purpose in the lives of all His faithful children. Do not stop trusting God even when things seem impossible; do not stop believing His words despite the situations confronting you, and do not stop following His words of promises to you because the Pharaohs against you are resisting and fighting you, they are refusing to obey or to follow the words of God and your words and they are increasing your isolation and punishment.

After Pharaoh’s refusal, God stepped in to fulfill His words with a battle that Pharaoh was unable to handle despite being armed, a battle he could not understand despite all the generals and wise counselors with him, a battle that also inflicted punishment on him that he could not stop. When God begins a thing, He will finish it. God is with you, He had started with you through the salvation of your soul and He will definitely finish what He had started. Your freedom had been negotiated and paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ and if any man will refuse as Pharaoh did, God will fight for you and He will give you the victory. For prayers Click here
