“Moses spoke to the Lord, saying, “Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation who shall go out before them and come in before them, who shall lead them out and bring them in, that the congregation of the Lord may not be as sheep that have no shepherd. So the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him. Make him stand before Eleazar the priest and all the congregation, and you shall commission him in their sight. You shall invest him with some of your authority that all the congregation of the people of Israel may obey. And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before the Lord. At his word, they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he and all the people of Israel with him, the whole congregation. And Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He took Joshua and made him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, and he laid his hands on him and commissioned him as the Lord directed through Moses.” Numbers 27:15-22

Because of what you know and see; what people do and say against you; what you are currently engaged in doing which is nothing as compared to any of your dreams, visions, academic qualifications, gifts, and talents, compared to God’s word, plans, revelations, and promises concerning you, that you will never be a success or fulfilled. You may think God had forgotten or abandoned you and will not reward you after your years of true faithfulness and obedience, let me assure you that your day of recommendation is coming, the clock will not be turned back against you; God has your day and a time before Him and He will do all that He had planned for you whether you know them or not. Your faithfulness to God will never be unrewarded. God is always faithful and He will be faithful to you irrespective of what people may say or do.

Joshua did not just become the next leader of the children of Israel on their way out of Egypt to the land God had promised Abraham after Moses, God recommended Joshua as Moses successor and there was nothing to change it and no one to challenge, resist, or stop that recommendation. Moses did not at any time think of making Joshua to succeed him before that day, at the appointed time, in the appointed place, and before the right audience, God gave Moses Joshua’s name and asked Moses to make him his successor.

Joshua had served Moses with all his heart and might, spent years with him, and worked for him with sincerity of purpose. During his years and time of service to Moses, Joshua never solicited for a position, never desired one, and never thought he will ever be anything more than just serving Moses. Unknown to Joshua was the fact that God was watching him, God was taking notes of his actions and sincerity, and God was planning something bigger than his dreams and expectations for him. At the right time, while God was preparing to take Moses away, God was also opening the door for Joshua to step in and step up. Moses did not ask God for Joshua to be elevated; Joshua did not ask God or Moses for a position or to be elevated to succeed him, God personally recommended Joshua. God gave Joshua the favor and God made the way possible for Joshua to succeed Moses in the presence of the congregation.

Whatever God had destined for you in this life will come to you irrespective of where you are and what you are currently doing, irrespective of the frustrations, insults, and humiliations. In your life and for your wellness, God has His plans, God has His time, God has His place, and He will definitely do what He had planned for you if only you will remain at peace with Him and stay where He had placed you despite the sufferings and no recognition by family or others around you. Joshua was still called a servant by the people but that did not stop God. They may give you or call you many derogatory names, but that will not change God’s plans for you or stop Him from recommending you for a higher position in this very life. For prayers, Click here
